IF it was taken care of it will be fine. I have 125k on mine and with headers and a lid only I dynoed at 328whp and 348tq so the motor is still pretty healthy even with all the miles and this is on a 98

if the paint and interior is in good condition that is not a bad price. It is not high mileage for its year nor for a ls1 car ive had a 99 corvette with 125k and SS with 150k that sprayed 125 shot through for about 3 years. and just sold a 98 ws6 with 202k miles that was perfect for 6k.

For a stock motor with 125k on the clock and it just has a catback exhaust it probably hasnt been beaten on too much. If it were a H/C car I would walk the other way. These motors aren't done running at 125k by any means. Several people take them to 200k and just do regular maint. on them and they run great. You may want to take someone with you that knows a thing or 2 about these cars though to go look at it. Drive it around. Listen to it at idle hot and cold.

There are too many variables to say whether or not the engine will last. If it has been well taken care of and been maintained well then there is a good chance the engine could have a lot of miles left. There are many guys who have taken these engines well past 200k miles without an issue. So take it for a drive and like said above if you don't know much about the engines it will be hard to tell, so take someone with you who may have some knowledge with LS engines.
If the car is in good condition both inside and out then $6500 sounds like a fair price. It should be pretty easy to tell whether or not the car has been taken care of.
