I've stuck with dexcool in all my LS1s. Never had a problem, but I change it regularly (either do a drain & refill of the radiator every 1-2 years or a full system flush every 3-4 years).
I buy the premixed. Around here, it's about $9 for a gallon of premix and $12 for the straight coolant, so I'd rather not be bothered with mixing it myself. If you do mix your own, use distilled water for best results.

I talked with Prestone, I think they make the dexcool, they told me it was ok if the left over dex cool mixes with the new green stuff.
They did try to talk me into dex cool again, but I think the green was a fine choice. My car runs at 160 degrees and hasn't overheated, even in 120 degree vegas heat.
