Cam Install w/ results and ?'s

I have a 02 SS Camaro T-56. Saturday I had a cam with all the supporting mods installed. I am happy with the results. I have driven all around town since and it has surged on me and died once while it was at operating temp. I let it sit overnite and this morning I drove it on a cold start and it died on me 3 times while stopping in a 3 mile stretch. When it gets at normal temp the surgeing goes away entirely and hasn't died on me at all. My question is do you guys think that the surging issue is somewhat common while the engine is cold or is there an issue making that happen.
BTW I made 407/402 rwhp. 100 shot 502/526 rwhp.

It will never run exactly like it is stock, but you need a REAL tune. If the tuner knows what he is doing that should eliminate most of the issue. What cam did you install and what were the supporting mods? It says that you have a mail order tune in your sig? Was that just for the bolt ons? Are you completely un tuned as of right now?

Oh sorry I haven't changed my sig yet. It was dyno tuned by a reputable shop in my area who specializes in LS motors. The cam is a small cam in the LS world. I have the mods in my sig and I added 37lb injectors LS2 timing chain LS6 oil pump and underdrive pulley.
Oh one thing I forgot to mention, earlier this afternoon I got a SES light for PO154 bank 2 sensor 1 no activity. I cleared the code and I haven't driven it since to see if it will come back. Could that sensor be causing the issues I mentioned before.

It is a TSP 224R on a 112 LSA. I am leaning towards it being a 02 sensor going bad. After I got the PO154 code I smelled gas at idle which I didn't smell before. If any of you guys could give any ideas to what you think it is I would appreciate it.

Florence is a long ways away we don't typically do any "organized" street racing however if anyone pulls up to where we are sitting and asks to run someone those 2 cars go run then come back and tell the results. Maybe we could split the distance and meet in rogersville sometime. Always looking for new cars guys to hang out/ race with.

my cam is a 233/239 cam and I have hardly no surging issues. i can drive just fine even when engine is cold. but i also have a very good tune on my car. I would take it somewhere else and get it tuned better just my opinion

First things first, that's great power out of that particular cam. Lot of guys running larger cams making considerably less power.
As for the driveability, head back to the shop and let them know there are still a few issues with the tune to smooth out. It should clean things up a bit. It will not feel anything like stock however you shouldn't have to worry about it surging and dying (especially with a 6-speed).

On a side note I called the tuner and he is supposed to call me back. I bought replacement 02s so when I install them I'm hoping to fix the surging.

I can get to b'ham im less than 2 hours. b'ham is roughly 2 hours south on I-65 from athens. And rogersville is roughly 30 min west of athens on US HWY 72. The tuner is a good tuner there are little gremlins sorrounding big bird's car. I think we got it all figured out though.

I talked to my tuner and he suggested that I adjust the IAC screw on my throttle body. I noticed today that my car surged more and died more easily when the A/C was turned on. He said that I may have been at the threshold of power my car requires to stay running and the extra pull from the A/C compressor may have been enough to make it die. Me and a friend of mine adjusted the screw and it seemed to really help. I was able to crank it let it idle then crank a/c to max and the rpms would not drop at all. I reved it and it returned right back to idle with zero surging. When I replace the 02 sensors and can drive it I will see the results hopefully I will have it figured out. I will let you guys know.
