Default Are these LS specs right?

I just got some numbers off Google and was wondering if they are correct. It seems the hp per $ the GTO seems to be the best bang for the buck..
  • 2006 GTO LS2 400 / 400
  • 2002 Z06 LS6 405/400
  • 2009 G8 L76 361 / 385

I thought the GTO had the same engine as the ZR 1... maybe another year ZR1?

tks

There's a lot more to it than advertised engine horsepower numbers. Car weight, available aftermarket parts, price of said parts, ease/difficulty on working on the car, transmission options...pretty long list.

x2, and if my memory serves me right, weren't the GTO's ALOT heavier then the Corvettes and F bodies, in the 3700-3900 range?

a ls2 GTO is barley faster than a 2000 trans am w/ LS1 even with 95 hp over the t/a. im pretty sure a t/a does 13.4 stock and a GTO w/ LS2 does a 13.3

95hp difference? More like 55hp. The F-bodys made just as much power as the vettes did.

No way, only them WS6 350ci Trans Am cars had the Corvette engine in them! The regular Camaros and Trans Am cars had a special "Remove HP" package installed on them by the dealerships so they wouldn't be able to compete with the really fast ram air cars.

A buddy of mine was convinced the WS6 had the LS2!

OP, what are you looking for in a car? HP bragging numbers or something specific (looks, roadcourse performance, etc.)? HP numbers don't completely describe what the car is....

They were not detuned. Just underrated to keep the vette guys happy. Stock f-bodys dyno 290-310 all of the time.

What the hell are you talking about? Lol SAME EXACT ENGINE,SAME TUNING. Get either on a Dynojet and the numbers for the same model year car will be similar. I never dynoed my C5 but many f-bodies
