You can do it with the pulley on, it's just a pain in the ***. Be quicker to take the pulley off, swap hoses, and put the pulley back on than leaving the pulley on and trying it.

Because I live in a downtown apartment, it needed the tire changed and and oil change anyway and I wanted them to look at it while it was on the lift for anything else I couldn't see when buying it. Plus, I wanted them to fix the air injection system anyway. I figured the pump was shot anyway.

It's all relative...not everyone has the money, time, tools, space, and experience to pull an engine out, build a new one, and swap it in.

Give me a chance. I'll be at the track (road racing track, no drag strip) in 3 weeks.

I expected this stupid hose to have taken out a power steering pump, alternator and belts at the least. only took out belt, so I'm pretty happy, though I have a feeling there will some collateral fall out.

Lol, I've swapped motors, built motors, and ****- even helped design some. I've even swapped an engine in a motorcycle I've done plenty of car work. Calm down, sparky.

Mostly time and space. I'm moving this weekend, I just started a job with a new firm and other commitments. I also live downtown so I don't have a garage.

Didn't wanna start a new thread, but I'm pretty sure my p/s pump took a **** on me today. It was makin all kinds of noise when I turned even though it was good on fluid, but then it bled out in my driveway (and gave my alternator a good oiling). The guy who works on my car said he'd come pick it up and fix it for $100 if I get the part (I work at a parts warehouse, so it shouldn't be bad). I couldn't get around to even tryin to fix it for a few weeks, should I just go with option A?
