02 zl camaro supercar phase iii
Is it me or are these overpriced- over-hyped Camaros?? I'm having 2000 Camaro 600+ hp LS3 street car built w/all the complimentary mods-suspension,chassis, rear etc. & will better than this car IMO. A Classic-Bullsh*t! by time it truly is unless your like 10 years old you wouldn't live long enough to see it appreciate in value like the 69 ZL1s. Seems to be the theme with all these special niche car builders-GMMG, Saleen, Hurst, etc. Granted they are awesome cars but the market seems to be flooded with them. JMO

Kind of like the corvette guys with a stock c6 building there car to beat a zr1 in a race and say there car is better then a zr1. Might be better and faster but still not a ZR1
I do agree though that price is outrageous but its rare and you dont see one everyday

yeah -the C5R Race block is the ONLY part on that car that is exotic. Fast forward to 2010 and there not exotic anymore with the LSX Block options offered for far less and just as bullet proof.

I doubt you will find it at the GMMG website, not much activity there for some time. If youre really curious I would post it up in the special edition vehicles section. Someone there will know what these cars have for rear axles.

Personally, I can understand both sides of the arguement and I'm neutral. I can appreciate either.

Trim badges aren't a big deal to everyone. Some people would rather buy a cheaper car and build it to suit their custom needs/wants/tastes rather than blow the cash on a prefabricated factory supercar. To those people, being able to say that it's "a real ZR1" doesn't mean much anyway. They are more interested in and proud of their performance stats or custom creations than factory rarity or exclusivity.

I seen that car too on ebay. I wondered the same thing about if it has a 10 bolt. I know you could get a 12 bolt in a Dick Harrell car.
They only made 69 of these, just like they did with the 69 COPOs. They are very unique cars. If I could have any GMMG car it would be this one. 135K is a lot for it but look at what the 69 COPOs are selling for now. Last 69 COPO on ebay they wanted 500K for it.

This is exactly how the original muscle cars went from rotting in barns to fetching 6 figures or more at high end auctions.

OP did you start this thread just to tell us your car is getting a new engine?
I have never seen a site that hates on their own "car" values as much as this site does. Everything I hear is "it aint worth that much" or "its too much money for that car" That does nothing but drive car prices down for a car that some/most of us own IMO. Carry on

it's a cool car and i'd love to have one, but i'm on the side where i'd much rather buy a regular camaro, vette, zr1, etc. and put the extra money into building it to my exact wants. that, and i'm not one for "collectible" cars that you spend a fortune on and are scared to drive it, much less have fun in it.

This would be my second purchase if I won the lottery. 1st would be a 2011 gmc 2500hd denali quad cab in black, 3rd would be a blue lotus elise track package. 4-297.4 would be pieces for my 35th le lol.
Ive never much understood car collecting, I buy my vehicles to drive them. However, if i had a **** ton of money and a huge garage, id have to have one of these sitting in it.

Sorry 4th gen guys, that car will never be worth a flip, you have to pay so much for it up front it just isn't practical these days. Unless it is a true specialty car of the 60's and early 70's Gm, Ford and Chrysler will never have a car that will be a collector car in the future. I don't care how far down the road it is. The biggest difference between today and yesterday is yesterday you could order anything you want and it would come straight from the assembly plant. Today you have to use an outsourced company to do all the modifications. Are they special today? I say its just another car with a shops modifications and a name plaque. And there is no value to that.
