Saw a small block conversion in a Triumph Spitfire, Guy had modded backend to look like a cobra, really sweet setup. Trucks are always fun, several years are very popular and most all look good lowered. Personally on the aspect of doing a conversion I would to do it in something that would have the pential to get your money back out of it as well as enjoy, Early to mid 50's Chevy the early lead sled buicks or even look into the older 50's era pickups. Even some of the earlier station wagons like the chevelle/Malibu, Nova, Buick Vista wagons, Some of these wagons like the Nova are bringing some descent money when done up.

Like you mentioned any 80's G-body would be a fun swapped car with tons of parts out there. I never see early 80's malibu's on the street, but there's always a handful of clean and fast ones at the track, and there's plenty of suspension parts that work well on G-bodys. Just something different, a 2-door or even 4 door Malibu with some decent rims would be a fun little car with that drivetrain.

the cool/bad thing about a g-body is, is it already has a semi 4 link for rear suspension, the bad thing is, unless you go with a moser 12 bolt, they all have 7.5 rears in the unless you get an 8.5 out of a hurst/olds. then you have to get the driveshaft as well, or have yours cut down. because the 8.5's for a g-body are very rare.
