that'd be cool to see. i have a 1:18 ERTL black 96 WS6 that even has black wheels on it, but nothing in the 1:64 scale range. i got this model before i had the ws6 hood but after i had the black wheels. in a way, i made the real one look like the model, lol.

Well that's good then that you are getting the light weight fly because that is what my brother ordered from tick. He does a lot of roll racing and could care less about having the inertia of a heavy flywheel to get him out of the hole. We are going to do a roll race before the light weight fly install and after to see how much of a difference there is in accelleration. I'm guessing about a car length from 25mph-100mph.

I will have to take a pic of my collection as well, I have a bunch of Camaro's and a few Trans Am's. I do want to add a LS1 T/A to my collection and the amazing spider man one may have to do!

Hey this doesn't really pertain to this thread. But I am still a beginner mechanic and I've been wondering what the difference is between flywheels. Are you saying with an aluminum one you can't down shift? If so, can you still down shift with a steel flywheel? Sorry again for getting off topic, I'm just trying to learn as much as I can since I just picked up a '96.

Thanks for your info

Wow I have the B&M one and I have been scavaging the old antique stores with my wife for old Firebirds. I also look for the newer one everywhere else. But to no avail. I will have to say that the one collection is awsome.

haha...slightly off topic...yes, but that's ok

I'm not one to go screaming "Search"....so I'll give you my quick $.02 on it.

The whole deal with getting an aluminum flywheel instead of a steel one is reducing some of the rotating mass. I know my numbers are off here...but go with me. A steel flywheel weighs some 18 lbs, an aluminum flywheel weighs som 8 lbs. The engine has to rotate the flywheel...and the heavier the flywheel, the more strain on the engine to get that momentum to rotate the flywheel. The lighter the flywheel...the easier it is for the engine to rev up AND down. If there was no downside to a lightweight flywheel...everyone would have one...but when driving with an aluminum flywheel...the clutch can grab it a lot easier since there's less "weight" rotating that it has to grab. if you're not rev matching when you down shift...the car can buck like you don't know how to use a clutch. An aluminum flywheel is for those people who know what it does and how it can benefit them while they're willing to cope with the disadvantages. Personally...I rev match every downshift already when racing, so I can deal with that, and on the street..I won't be downshifting all the time...car's too loud and ticks people off beside me. The benefit for me is when I autox coming out of a tight turn at lower speeds when I'm down in the rpm's. It doesn't take as much power to rotate that aluminum "weight" as it does a steel "weight". The same principle applies to steel vs. aluminum/carbon driveshafts and the benefits are similar principles to an UD pulley as far as quicker revs go. If you're only using the car for the street...don't worry about ever getting an aluminum one unless you're just hardcore set on it. By all means, do what you want with your car...but I see that money being better spent elsewhere. If you're into autox/road racing....it may be a potential upgrade for you in the future. If you're into drag racing....it just depends on your flavor of it. Do you want that heavy rotating mass to help get you from a dig....or do you want less rotating mass to help you get into your power range faster. That'll all depend on your style of drag racing....I've been down the 1/4 mile twice in my car...so I'm not most knowledgable when it comes to that. But hopefully my explanation will help you out a little.

Hollo. How did you get dual exhaust. I got one of those 2n1's, but it only gives me single outlet exhaust? the only trans am ws6 kit I could find was a 98, which makes the single outlet correct, but I want it to look like my car which has dual.

Anyone have a Camaro model? If so, does it come with dual exhaust? I imagine I could use the exhaust off that kit and make it work.
