What year is this "V6 T/A"? 
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the only time you could get a V6 in a Trans Am was in the 1989 20th Anniversary Firebird Trans Am. It was equipped with a Turbocharged 3.8L that made 250hp.
Unless, of course, the V8 was replaced by a V6 in this particular car, I believe you mean your neighbor has a FIREBIRD not a FIREBIRD TRANS AM.
I don't mean to come off as a dick and I know most preach forgiveness, but calling every Firebird a "Trans Am" is a huge pet peeve of mine. And, yes, I will politely correct every person who makes this mistake.

If it was an actualy Clone with replica or the exact parts, then no not at all. If its someone who is bone stock t/a then hell yes. I know there is no way of telling but at some shows its obvious. Or the idiots who badge their v6's as formulas or t/a's, that irritates me.

na i wouldnt call em out its there car not mine, what does **** me off is when people misrepresent one there selling. or when you ask someone if its the v8 and they lie. Had a guy in town tell me his firebird was a v8 trans am only to start it up and drive away, now you think i cant tell the difference between exhuast notes?

Haha yeah man!! Every time that someone mentions my car, they say something like, "Don't you drive the firebird?" I reply, "Yeah the Trans Am." That is usually followed by, "Aren't they the same thing?" You aren't the only one who gets sick of that conversation!!
