Yup. It'd be nice to own a car not held together by chewing gum.

Unfortunately they'll just be just another POS used car by the time I can afford one, haha.

Congrats on the new ride, looks good!

Such ungratefulness and animosity towards these great vehicles..

Go buy a Lexus with heated seats.

Yeah pretty weak to get a different car because someone criticized you imo.

Plus, in terms of expected long term value, 4th gen TAs, esp. WS6s, are probably gonna be worth a lot more money than 5th gen or 4th gen Camaros in the future, since they are the last of the TAs.

Everyones entitled to their opinion,

But I did it for me, the redneck mullet comments were by jealous people anyway or my dates

They don't complain anymore!

And I dont give two rats ***'s about keeping my old American car in hopes of appreciation

I'll be able to find one just like my old one, same price or better in 5 years after graduate school if I'm really worried about that *cough* appreciation *cough*

Meh. The 5thGen has yet to grow on me and I didn't enjoy the driving experience very much. But if it makes YOU happy, that's all that matters...

I would take a 5th gen anytime over a 4th gen for a daily but will never get rid of my loud obnoxious redneck mulletmobile

I think my 4th gen makes a better winter daily driver than a 5th gen, because snow tires are cheaper for my spare 16" 4th gen wheels.

A Lexus with heated seats actually sounds good right about now. It was 14 degrees when I left the house this morning, heated seats would have been NICE!

So you disagree with me that these cars have lowsy build quality? I didn't say they were unreliable, but it's a fact that these aren't put together very well.

Between the cracking door panels, the plastic headlight gears, the bubbling sail panels, the always failing pass window motors, etc...

I love my Bird, it looks good, is quick, and handles well, but the engineering leaves a bit to be desired.

After 4 years of putting up with those quirks, plus 3 with my 3rd gen, the thought of a new car that is nice and tight is very appealing to me.

Although maybe calling the 5th gens future POS's was a bit strong....my point there was more a dig at myself and my shitty job, because they'll prob be ten years old before I can start thinking about buying one.

To be honest the pipes do look pretty redneck on the TA. Too skinny and that's what you see on the hillbilly pickups.

all while playing redneck music flowing out of windows.

Don't knock heated seats man... my Audi had heated seats and they're one of the best damn things in the entire world. I want to add some to my Z28!

That said, nice car! If you're happier with the 5th gen for personal reasons too, that's cool.
Oh, and "The Program" doesn't exist in my world!
x2 My parents spent a lot of money to have me kidnapped and deprogrammed. They are so far pleased with the results..If they could just get me out of a 4th gen. F-body!

I disagree. Lousy is an overstatement, IMO.

50% of those issues are Firebird problems, not F-body problems. I do agree that the bubbling roof and window motors were quality issues. Actually, those are the only quality issues I've ever had with mine.

Not at all. I'm sure many of you that see the 4th gen as a "POS" compared to the decade-newer 5th gen will also see that same 5th gen as a POS in 10 years. The pattern will continue.

Too bad that so many people can't see the good in both cars (or really in all generations of F-body) without putting one or more down.

soo......
So...who cares what other idiots think or say? Most people around here dont say that, & I could care less if they did.

I got with "the program" and bought a 2010 SS with 7K miles, steal of a price, blacked out wheels, badges, tail lights, turn signal lights....

I love the new SS, I am sorry I ever hated before
I dont really hate on the 5th gen, just hasnt grown on me enough that I love it yet.

Overall, if you guys are flirting with getting rid of the old f body for a new 5th gen....
do it....
Patrick
Actually I wasnt. I kinda like my "old 4th gen F-body". I drive newer cars all the time at work, even drove a 2010 blown SS. I think I would buy a C6 vette before I bought a 5th gen.
