There was no V10 edition, no V10 engine, and no V10 Trans Am ever offered by GM or as a factory authorized dealer package in 1999 or any other year. Mecham was not a V10.

Trans Am has always, always been a V8 for every single model year from 1969 to 2002, with the ONLY exception being the 20th Ann. '89 Turbo Trans Am (231ci V6).

I am so certain that your friend's friend's dad did not have a factory or factory authorized '99 V10 Trans Am that I'm willing to bet $100,000 on it.

This is what I told him. I was dead certain there wasnt a V10 edition, but to ease the nagging I said Id ask. There are too many details missing in the story. Friends dad was a drug dealer and spent like 50k having it built... The dad went to jail leaving it to his son, my friends friend. SInce then he has never seen or heard of it. Figured it was a custom thing. Just asked for him.

Traded a 2004 Colorado Base, single cab on 20's with a 3/4 drop and 80k miles straight up for it.

Car has 183k on the body. The owner had it for a month then needed a truck. He didnt know **** about the car. Its been rebuilt, but when, I have no idea. Its strong and pulls hard. DD's well and has no body damage (no dents or dings or scratches). Paint started peeling on the front bumper and the fading on the hood. has a few problems but they are little.

Basically I own the car for $5,000.00
