Default USUALLY how much does it cost to get a cut-out?

I want to get a cut-out for my exhaust on my stock 2006 gto. Will that benefit my car at all or the performance? everything is stock.

Why do people get them anyway? I want one because when i want my car to sound nice and loud, i'll just open it.

If you get one you can clamp in you can put it on yourself.

I say don't bother if you can't get them in before the
cats. All you'd be bypassing is the mufflers, which are
not the greatest restriction or noise reducer in the
lineup.

30 bucks for a manual cutout, about 170 for a electric, costs about 30 to weld them in, and about 100 to have the electric installed

worth every penny

Really? Have you ever ran a magnaflow? The difference with my cut-out open or closed is night and day in terms of sound, and I have a cutout after my cats.

Anyway to the op... you will find 50/50 threads of people who say they do nothing, even rob u of HP, while others saying they add some HP. With your stock exhaust I would expect a few hp though. Your main thing is going to be loudness though.

I payed $100 for my QTP E cutout with the Y (on craigslist). Then $38 to have it welded up. Haven't had it on a dyno but I get a little better fuel mileage I think. So if that's is true, I would say that efficiency is efficiency and it would also increase performance. Just my logic.

I could tell a noticeable difference in mine, seems to spin up quicker. I've got it mounted just before the axle on a hooker catback. I've also got midlengths and an ory. I got mine off craigslist new in the box and installed it myself. I've got less than $80 in the entire setup, but I realize not everyone has a welder. I agree about the cats, it's probably not worth the expense if you have stock cats unless you go before them. After them will gain a little bit of noise and maybe a horsepower or two, but won't be a big bang for the buck mod.

There's your answer, for most of the people who do it.
They want it loud.

Just because it's loud, doesn't mean it sounds good.

its a toss up really, to each their own

I've had no regrets installing mine, both w/ performance and sound

If you still have your stock exhaust system, you'll probably need two and that'll be over 300 easy for electric ones.

Check out summit racing or jegs, probably your best bet. They're pretty cheap.

I had a local muffler shop install a cutout right after the rear axle on the pipe bend. It was $75 for everything, but that was back in 2002.

Ended up getting a DMH Electric plate for it too.

Quick Reply: USUALLY how much does it cost to get a cut-out?
