Do you think I'd be dissapointed with a C5 after having my camaro?
So it has been only like 2 months that I've had my camaro now, but I'm thinking of selling. Mainly because I think the car is now worth a lot more than I have spent due to the engine rebuild/upgrades, paint, and many other small things I have done. And I have now found a C5 I like, and that is what I originally wanted anyway.
My camaro has around 400hp (hasn't been dynoed yet), and it feels faster. This is the most powerful car I have ever driven. I really do like my car but I really want a corvette. My friend is willing to sell me my dream car (2004 C5) but it is a 100% stock LS1. I am worried it might feel slow.
Both cars are 6 speeds.
So the question is would this feel like a down-grade? Slower? More Boring? I generally like corvettes better, but I have grown to love my 383 LT1 Camaro.

Having owned both, I'll say that you will LOVE the C5. It is lighter and will feel just as fast. You'll get WAAAAY better MPG's and will be much more comfortable doing it. If you go for the C5, you'll never look back.

The c5 z06 is way better looking than the coupe. I have had a 98coupe and a 02 z06 and i have to say, I have never for one second missed the targa top. Mine was a glass top, and i put a sun shade in it to help block some but it was still too much sun. It would squeak and sometimes leak and was just generally a pain. I hardly ever got to remove it either if the wife ever rode along. Also, don't forget, the c5 z06 is another 150lbs lighter than the coupe.
FYI, if you plan to do any modifications to the car then buy them already done! There are lots of well modded cars out there for sale at roughly kelly blue book value (so the mods are free basically).

C5 FTW. My friend's mom has a base C5. Even with it being an auto it is way more comfortable than my T/A and feels about the same performance wise. Plus it handles like a sports car and not a truck lol. Also the cool factor of it being a vette comes into play. To us car folk it's not that cool, but to the average joe they will think it is cooler than any F body lol.

thread title made me think this was a troll thread at first
if you're considering this after 2 months, chances are you'll be beaming with joy in a c5. you can always make up the power difference.
the weight and handling difference will impress you even more after driving your camaro.
i personally wouldn't want a stock c5 over my camaro in its current condition, but thats just me.
no matter what anyone tells you, you have to drive a c5 and see how you feel about it.

i just bought a c5z and traded in my 7k mile 2010 ls3 ss. theres no comparison IMO, and the z still came with options that the ss didn't have like memory seating, dual zone A/C and doesn't have the stupid cup holders behind the shifter. i can't speak for a base c5 but i dont think you'd be dissappointed. if you think you would, upgrade to a z

Definitely, definitely, get the C5.
The suspension on those is much more stout than our cars (even though they CAN get pretty dang aggressive!!). The C5 is just more of a mean machine in my opinion (that is, on average). And if you get bored...why don't you just mod it? The LS1 Vette will be much more fun than your LT1 Camaro, even if it's making more power-for now!
