What you need to do is find out what your main priorities are for the car. Everything that has been listed in the thread are great products, and will help the car out, but depending on what you really want to do, will determine what needs to be done first.

All of what has been listed in the thread are good, useful products that you should get at one point or another.
Starting with the basic bolt ons is what would be recommended for starters. Then, I would go with the stall, transmission cooler, some suspension work, and a tune. You could do gears, but you have 3.23s already, so I would leave the rear alone until it is time for a stronger rear (The costs associated with the parts and labor for just doing the gears in a 10 bolt are around half of what a new rear would cost).
Once you get the bolt ons, stall, and suspension that car will be pretty damn fast and will be faster than most people you will run into.

Yea that list is great, but to beat your buddies with mustangs you probablly wont need most of these at first lol. My buddy has an 03 with full suspension, 3.90 gears, 75mm tb and plenum, CAI, sts, and a tune and all I have is a bone stock 02 T/A with an A4 and he only got me by maybe a fender. So full exhaust, and a 3800 convertor will beat most mustangs then run a 228 cam which you can run with stock heads, tune it and put sticky tires on it and tell your friends to nut up lol... Ls cars are gods gift to the car world

Before you purchase anything from Vendors/Sponsors, check the classifieds section on here first. For anything you need literally, it will be there.. I've saved thousands shopping that way. Not to take away from the Vendors sometimes there are just unbeatable deals in the classifieds.
As others have said, STALL STALL STALL!! Yank SS3600 or Yank SS4000 are both amazing performing stalls. Personally, if it were me and I was starting out with an A4 F-body LS1, the combo on this forum that I would copy would be CHRS1313's hands down no question about it !!! Can you say 9's and 130mph+ in the 1/4 with stock bottom end LS1, pump gas, 4l60e trans.. simply amazing..

Cam only, he was running 10.9 @ 122 in the 1/4 and 6.9 in the 1/8th. Definitely a good car to base your build off of.

There's many different ways to go about it, budget build or a long term build where you get everything you can, or somewhere in between. I went the term route and am slowly building it the way I want. I decided to get all the bolt ons I was going to get and then go internal. If you go budget I'd recommend a stall, a cam you can find you like, long tubes, and some nitto nt555's or other good tire, along with all the free mods and you be running 11's in no time from my personal experience
