SSRA install and first impressions .. pics..

I can, but in all reality I'm going to use gorilla tape and silicon to seal it off. Those times are without me sealing the box, weather stripping only.. and no filter (not that it matters )
that SSRA is the only real world proven ram air piece I've seen, thats why I got it.

I just installed one of these on my car and it's a nice piece. I can't honestly say it feels faster but I'll take it to the track and get some times eventually.
I sealed off the front of the air box with the weather stripping it came with. With the two piece design of the scoop, it doesn't seal up completely where the two pieces join together. If you look at where the front radiator support bracket is, you can see clearly where the two pieces join, there are gaps on each side. I would like to seal that part up somehow, but not sure exactly how or what method to use. It's also an area with not much room or clearance to work with.
Not sure if anyone else noticed that or if it matters much performance-wise about the duct being sealed completely. Just thought I'd mention that.

yeah i have one time slip spraying the car, but its not something I would consider anything significant. I am having shift point and or shifting issues, it banged rev limiter from 2-3 on spray (without nano). I think it was like 12.0 on 2 gears?? @ 120?? something like that.
as it sits with the 150 shot nano it'll be a 11.5-8 car

it was a 2.0'ish 60' on a a4, wasn't spinning i launched at 1500 rpm or something, but that top end was nasty imo.

After first installing the SSRA I went from 117 to 118 mph trap speeds. I like how it opens up the direct airpath to the air cleaner. It didnt seem like it made much difference but since its gotten colder out my trap speeds have never been higher than they are now. My best was 11.8 @ 117 w/ a 1.6 60 foot. Got a PB 11.55 @ 121 last weekend & running consistent 11.6-7s yesterday so theres no doubt this mod has made a difference. Only trapped 120 yesterday but that honestly exceeded my expectations. I also went with lighter wheels, tires, lighter flywheel, different clutch this year so thats also a factor. This is the only engine mod that I have done since I put better heads on it a few years ago. My first 3 runs from yesterday, car 243.
