Default 383 ls1 or 5.3

my lt1 on my 96 pontiac trans am went out so i thought about doing a swap 5.3 or ls1 but a friend of my told me to just rebuild my engine to a 383 stroker whats my best choice guys thanks

I really favor the ls series motors. They make great power. If you can afford it I would suggest a ls based motor.

how much hp would an ls1 stroker make for what i know it makes 325 hp stock

i got the motor and transmission of an ls1 for 2000 on the stroker i could only spent about 2500 is that enought for a good stroker or no

Go with LS engine, I am taking a 454 out of my Chevelle for one.

No need to stroke.... procharge about 8psi and make 600 ponies and drive everywhere.

If your thinking of any kind of internal modifications for the LS1 and can afford it now do it before the motor goes in. Will save you some time and money.

How much do you want to spend? I would probably rebuilt the motor you have. Forge the motor and turbo it.
