Default 3500 budget

Hey guys just sold my t rex cam i bought ditched that idea thanks to this forum ditched the slp lm1 as well and ory. i bought texas speed trual duals and texas speed stainless headers. Have around 3500 bucks left to work with just wanting some ideas. Car will never see the track maybe a friday fun night or two but other than that all street driving. nice weather only. Car is a 00 trans am stock with m6 (headers and td's are not on car yet) Not looking for a specific dyno number. I just want something that is a blast to drive and sound great too. Somethin that just kinda puts you and your passenger in the seat. I have talked to alot of sponsers on here and they all seem great but I would like to know some of your guy's combo's from experience. as far as cam choice goes a little surging down low doesnt bother me to much but i would like to stay in 23X duration or lower. the trex is a great cam, I have plenty of friends with them but I hate having to spin the damn thing to almost 4k to get it to start pullin. I would like tire frying torque all through the powerband. I have read pat g is a good guy to talk to on a custom grind? Basically just want something that is pretty stout for a stock bottom end ls1 with plenty of power all the way through the powerband. 3500 is the budget guys already have tsp stainless headers and tsp true duals. thanks!

Swapping out the cam and supporting parts will be around $1500.

Next up should be tires and suspension. Thats another $1500. Look into koni shocks and subframes, then get it lowered with some stranos.

The remaining $500 would probably be used for a good dyno tune.

A mild cam with your exhaust set up could get you to around 370-390 rwhp.
A larger cam and you could touch 400 rwhp.

You would have a fun car that handles well.
Hopefully that helps you to get started.

The modding never stops though, pretty soon your 3500 budget will turn into a 10k hit on the bank account.

Have you looked into a Procharger p1sc? They're pricey new but you can get a used kit for much less and it'll give you the results you're after.

i would try to pick up some ls6 heads for about 500 also, probably another 800 in a good cam and springs/lifters/ timing chain.

then use the rest on suspenssion I would definetly konis/stranos.

I agree with jthunderz28 but I wouldn't lower it. Get some LCA's, LCA Relocation Weld-on brackets, Subframe Connectors, and a panhard bar.

I agree with this. Since it will never see the track, suspension, cam and some good tires would be pretty nice for a driver.

that sounds like a good idea. I think i will upgrade the suspension along with sub frame connectors and a good set of tires i think a well balanced car will run better anyway. after all the suspension stuff if i dont have a enough for a cam i will just put all my bolt ons on the car and then save all summer for a good head cam combo. IM sure doing all the suspension first would be a smart move so when i do up the power it will be a nice balanced car. Ill also upgrade the clutch and flywheel. maybe put a short throw in their I hate the stock shifter it sucks.
