The aeroforce can track mpgs, clear and read codes, and there's nothing needed to see the trans temp. Idk where you saw that.

Yes, but does it display 4 gauges and have a color changing display. Just some features that made me choose the Scan Gauge over the Aeroforce when I was looking. I also liked the small size. Fits down by the cig lighter nicely. Choose what best fits your needs man. Just wasn't sure if you ever looked into some of the other options.

I guess it comes down to personal preference. The aeroforce can do everything you just mentioned except display 4 parameters at a time. It can only do 2 at a time, but it can be set to scan your favorite ones.

Usually, i have the top of mine fixed on coolant temp, and the bottom would switch between knock retard, misfires, and i forgot the other one lol. I hardly use it.

And yes, a 98 has to be hardwire aswell as obd2 lt1 fbodies. 99 and up can just plug and play IIRC (not 100% sure).

however, I like that the scangauge 2 isnt rounded like most gauges though. I dont like having a gauge on my pillar if the car doesnt really need one.

I had made a thread just for this gauge awhile ago.

Yours is still powered all the time, it's just not ON when the ignition is off. If you leave it connected to the OBDII port over a length of time without starting the car, say about a bit over a week, the gauge will drain the battery.

I have a 2000 as well, you are fine without the wire. Just plug up to the OBDII port.

On a side note, how do you like the Toyo TQs? Run them at the track? What PSI on the street/track and how long of a burnout did you use for them?

Go into the menu and there is a performance option in the list, I don't remember what it is called exactly. Click that and any sub category if there is one. Pretty sure it will "arm" once you're at 0 mph for the 0-60, 0-100, 1/4 mile.

On the street theyre great, I usually run 25-28 psi and noticed it wearing fairly even. I havent taken them to the track yet but after a quick burnout on the street they hook well going 1000-1500 and flashing the converter. For the price they cant be beat.

Is a drained battery a common issue that owners experience? Or are you guys using your cars daily where the battery doesn't drain?

I had mine hardwired into my 96, and it never drained the battery. However, i did have it hardwired. If yours needs to be hardwired, and you leave it plugged in to the OBDII port, im sure it will drain the battery after a while.

Even in the owner's manual it states that it will drain power if left in the OBDII port for an extended time without starting the car.

I didn't start the car for a little over a week with it still connected and it did take a moment to start the car. I haven't left it connected since then.
