MAF Cleaner works great!

I tried to clean mine but noticed one of the little wires was already bent. I had to replace. My car was running like ****. Felt like it hit a brick wall at 2500. Glad the cleaner worked for you. I dont know how it was bent. I think maybe the previous owner had a lid and when sold car put factory airbox on and screwed up sensor.

Cleaning the MAF wires is certainly a good thing. I clean mine using the soaked Q-tip way (well I use brake clean instead of rubbing alcohol, either one cleans the MAF wires exceptionally well) on a regular basis especially since I run a K&N filter. No one should have any fear cleaning your MAF this way as long as your gentle and don't apply pressure on the wires. Just gently glide the Q-tip across the wires, thats all thats needed to get them clean as a whistle.

Do I have the right one? Its CRC Throttle Body & Air-Intake Cleaner? Not MAF Cleaner.
Edit. CRC 05078 is Throttle body cleaner. And CRC 05110 is Mass Air Flow Sensor cleaner.
Funny, the can even says "Proven to gain 4-10 horsepower at the rear wheels"
I cant use the Q-Tip method, because my SLP MAF has some kind of honeycomb stuff over the front?

I've done it this way dozens of times myself. The only way you will ever break or damage the wires doing it this way is if you have absolutely no concept of "gentle".

I was driving on the high way one time hit wot and my car felt and sounded like it dropped a lifter. Pulled over mother fing the hole time. Popped the hood and a peice of my weather stip used to seal my lid had popped off and touched the maf. Pulled it off and it ran fine. Maf can do all kinds of things dirty. I have always just sprayed mine down with cleaner will have to try that qtip trick. Is that just Rubbing alcohol?
