Default Sierra Speed Shop Hi-Rise intake for LS1/LS2/LS6

Good morning LS1tech!

I would like to first start off by saying thank you very much for the help, suggestions, and support during the selection of Sierra Speed Shops next development item.

We will work closely with the forum for direct feedback during the construction of the first intake manifold. On the first intake, we want to make sure we can change the design almost on the fly, so it may not be the prettiest thing, but once we get a final design down, we will ensure it looks as good as it performs.

After much discussion, We decided the intake will be manufactured by 5051 and 6061 aluminum. All sheet metal components will be manufactured out of the 5051, while machined items will be 6061.

We have all the components in place to start our engineering process. We have an LS1 block, LS1 heads, and an LS1 intake to start designing of off. This will be a 100% original design, all manufactured in the USA.

We will soon produce a price point, but on this project, we URGE that the community is patient for this product. We will keep this thread updated with development as much as possible, but this is a huge project. This will take allot of trial and error to develop such a demanding intake design on an f-body.

Once again, Thank you LS1tech for the help!
Kyle Higgins

Our wasted engine that we got for free. We will use this for mock up and final fitment. We of course will also be partnering with a local shop for final fitment and measurements.
Thanks

Plotting a factory cylinder head. We'll also be plotting a factory intake to measure for proper factory mounting locations. We are currently only working on cathedral port heads, but we will eventually move to LS3/LS7 heads as we start development.

Thanks!

Plan on checking up on this and following along to see the finished product. I know you are just starting with the build, but have any timeline set to have a prototype out?

After we have completed the cathedral port intake, we will work on the LS3 and LS7 version of this. Internally, we believe we have a solution to ensure this intake will be easy to manufacture for each of the 3 types of ports, using many of the same parts.

Thank you! I cannot wait to come up with our prototype product.

Time frame is around spring time to have an actual prototype developed. The prototype will likely be crude, with fastened seams so we can modify certain parts of the intake if it doesn't work, rather then building one up all over again from scratch.

Thank you! I again urge every-one to be patient. This is a brand new intake that is being designed from scratch. We are working hard to ensure we create a high quality product, this means it will take some time. This is why I created this thread to show the community just how long a project like this takes to re-create.

The height of the intake is still being determined. Once we get an F-Body for measurements, we will keep you posted. We have a couple ideas for the shape of the plenum, but nothing on paper yet.

Thanks,
Kyle Higgins

Production is still chuggin along, as expected, development will take some time. It is Friday, and I would like wish every-one a great weekend!

We hope to have some bigger developments next week, as this week has been very busy with other projects!

Long time, no update, and I am sorry for that.

We are in the process of getting an intake manifold, which should be here this week. We will keep this thread alive with the latest news we can!

Thanks,
Kyle
