Default Is my cam to big?

wassup fellas, I have a Fuel injected 454 lsx with a 257/266 .646/.646 on a 114+4. I am not 100% sure it is the cams fault so is why im posting this.

My car can pretty much never start up (cold start) by just turning the key. I always have to give it gas like if it were carburated, otherwise if not it will just crank over and die almost instantly.

Also, even after warmed up, when i take it out of park and put it into gear, the rpm's will sort of surge and fluctuate.

Also, it cannot be driven normally sometimes. meaning; i cant just give it gas and go. I sometimes have to slowly and lightly give it gas until it reaches about 1500 rpm before it acts normal. if i dont do this, it will hesitate real bad, then all of a sudden surge up real quick.

if im at a stop light and floor it, it will hesitate real bad before getting up and going. sometimes at a stop light the rpm will drop so low i have to give it gas to keep it alive.

is this common with big cams? it it the tune? or maybe something else. any ideas??

It is a big cam but I'd think tuning would be the issue. I had a small cammed ls1 that did some of the same stuff and it was the tune.

There's tuners, and there's tuners, and few of them
want to spend the time needed to get cold starts
and idle right - nor would you want to pay shop rates
for the time it takes.

Now, yes, you have to accept some compromises in
drivability as a consequence of "going big". But how
much better it could be, you may never know "by the
hour".

Sounds like a tune to me as well.

Can you trailer it to a tuner so they can look at it cold?

Someone mentioned you have to swap 2 wires on the ls2 extention harness. The previous owner of this motor said he doesnt recall doing this. would not swapping those 2 wires on the ls2 extension harness have something to do with this?

The motor is from LME and was setup to be in a f body. 24x tooth reluctor and all the LS2 stuff like the timing cover and valley cover. But someone mentioned swapping 2 wires on the extention harness
