To my knowledge no they did not. The 4L80E came out behind a new 4.8's but, no 5.3's.

Nope. I know 1500 hd trucks came with a 80e but on a 6.0 motor.

Only a 4.8 or 6.0 in front of a 4L80E.

You would need a segment swap or run the relay method to use a 4L60e tune to control the 4L80E.

Computer wise any decent tuner should be able to make it work it's not that uncommon for people to swap 4L80e into a car or trucks that came with 4L60e. You'll need to either mod or swap the wiring harness to make it work.

yes the 5.3 cam with a 4l80 trans in the mid 2000 in the 3/4 suburban have one in the shop right now with a rear end growl and the 5.3l was a option in the express vans 3/4 and 1 ton witch also cam standard with the 4l80 trans

. The shift control for the 4l80 is backwards from the 4l60 if you used a stock program that was for a 4L80 trans on a 4L60 then the trans would start out in 4th and then sift down to first as you speed up. Was swoping out a 5.0lL out of a Chevy truck for the vortech 5.7L and when I went to program the ecu for the 5.7L I used a VIN that I know hade a 5.7l VIN cod R to reprogram the 5.0L ecu but watt I forgot was the VIN I hade also had a 4L80 trans and when I went to test drive I found the trans would shift from 4th to 1st
simple fix just reprogram the ecu with the stock VIN and the engine runs good

Don't they come in the 1500s now? I know the 5.3 is an option, but did they go to a different trans on the 2013-14?
