Did the 5.3 come with the 4L80 in any GM vehicle ?

yes the 5.3 cam with a 4l80 trans in the mid 2000 in the 3/4 suburban have one in the shop right now with a rear end growl and the 5.3l was a option in the express vans 3/4 and 1 ton witch also cam standard with the 4l80 trans

The shift control for the 4l80 is backwards from the 4l60 if you used a stock program that was for a 4L80 trans on a 4L60 then the trans would start out in 4th and then sift down to first as you speed up. Was swoping out a 5.0lL out of a Chevy truck for the vortech 5.7L and when I went to program the ecu for the 5.7L I used a VIN that I know hade a 5.7l VIN cod R to reprogram the 5.0L ecu but watt I forgot was the VIN I hade also had a 4L80 trans and when I went to test drive I found the trans would shift from 4th to 1st
simple fix just reprogram the ecu with the stock VIN and the engine runs good
