Default What Should my next motor be ?

My goal is at least running mid to low 10s NA i dont want to use nitrous or turbo none of that i want to be able to drive it to the track run 10s drive home no worries right now i have ls1 243 heads cam ls6 intake built trans 4200 converter ford 9 inch spool and i want to built possibly a iron 370? im kind of against 6.0s i dont know why but i only have a budget of 3000 dollars so dont recommend no 408 or 427 lol. it sounds like alot but im not powersteering 3300 lbs with me in it so my driver comforts arent at risk (to an extent)

give me what you got all suggestions welcome ! im trying to stick budget and remember 10S the mid to high 11s arent working for me

Well I went from a LS1 to a 370ci iron block. Reused my heads and intake, but went with a bigger cam. With the same exact HCI combo the 370 won't make much more power over the LS1.

hmm so do you think it would be much better to just get my 243s cnc'ed and maybe a fast 102/102 setup and call it a day

Sure that would obviously help, but it's not going to put you in the mid 10's, I would do what you are saying to maximize your setup, and then look into suspension and weight reduction to get to the next level

I would lean towards getting more air in via a Fast Intake and having the 243s worked on as well.

Maybe an new pulley, ram air set-up and some suspension upgrades.

im not sure i just love being able to run n/a and not rely on nitrous to beat someone. im thinking for winter im doing fast 102/102 along with my 243s ported by A.I. (thanks DEFYANT) and a underdrive pulley and possibly a electric water pump so i can just run crank and alt.

and after that im going to build a ls3 head&intake 6.2

I think a 6.2 would be sweet.

Isn't a 102/102 over kill? I thought i just remember reading somewhere the gains wasn't worth the cost?

I'd love a 6.2 though.
