heres a decent one i found, guy is capatalizing on the fact that its a 1 of 1 car, making it sounds a bigger deal than it is. maybe he dosent realize 1 of 1 isnt really all that uncommon? i see 1 of 1 or 1 of 10 cars go for sale all the time, just means one of them was built with a certain thing they decided to not do on the rest of the mainstream cars, usually for a reason. anyway hes asking way to much for those miles and his ad made me laugh they way it was worded.

Was there really on 217 triple black WS6 M6 verts made that year?

INCREDIBLY over priced! That's just about "bad joke" territory... It's nice, for 20k or less.

Nonsense! It may actually qualify as a "it matters a very little bit" 1 of 1... Still, with that mileage, he'll be lucky to get the asking price. On the other hand, a sucker is born about each minute or more..

Some of these people are either really clueless themselves or their pride needs to be checked... It's an F-body, not a gold mine. These cars, except true rare versions, like the ZL1, simply don't appreciate in value. That's the life of an automobile. Few ever become more valuable than when new.

Just browsed the classifieds, and man some of the prices seem high. I get that a pro charger/fully built etc demands money. But the stockers with 120k miles for 13,000?

What would be a realistic price for a clean 2002 Z28 A4 with 40k miles?

I posted my reply to you then found this new FS post in the eastern section that is a decent comparable:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/eastern-c...-2002-z28.html

more miles than yours but it made me think of your question , 67k 02Z with a 6 speed in black , good options/good color/more sought out 6 speed with a lot of recent maintenance taken care of for $9500 OBO so it would likely sell for 8 grand and change in my mind ( 8500-8900) reinforcing what my opinion was for your miles , though red and the ground effects package are both "polarizing" items in value discussions around here in the end I doubt either would effect the end price either way more than a schilling or 2 lol.

Personally I like the red its a classic/traditional color for a sports or muscle car and for everyone that doesnt want a red sports car there will be at least one that is seeking a bright color like red - but the ground effects I dislike the look and the added couple pounds of plastic

Thanks for your input. I'd say ultimately it's up to the buyer to determine what it's worth but I'd be happy with 9k. I'm eyeballing an '04 Z06 so I'm in the stage of figuring out if I want to sell my car to help finance it... not an easy decision.

Very good discussion going on in here. I always thought the same when I'd see these cars going for so much. But at the same time, if I want 10 for my car, I'm not going to ask 10. I'd probably list it for 13-15 and make someone talk me down. And who knows, maybe someone would be willing to pay my asking price. It's also hard to pay a lot for these cars because lets face it, they're rattle boxes and that's why I love them! Cars have come a long way and although I don't think it's a bad thing, you just can't get a car that's rough around the edges anymore. That's something that I continue to enjoy about my car; it's not perfect. It doesn't have 50,000 airbags, GPS, a coffee maker and parks itself.

Question for you guys; as of today what would you consider a 'low miles' 4th gen(98-02). I bought my 2001 SS in September of 2007 and turned 14K on the test drive. I considered it a very low mileage car since most of the other ones I was looking at had anywhere from 20-60K. She sits right now with ~23K and I still wouldn't hesitate to put 'Low Miles' in the ad...

you shouldnt think twice about calling a 13 year old car with 23k low miles.

anything under 100k is pretty low miles for a car that age but it would seem kinda odd to list a car "low miles" that had 100k lol, it surely low miles to me I almost never buy anything with under 100k but I know that is not typical...

I would call anything under 80k low miles though on a 4th gen but I am sure others will disagree with me on that .

I think average miles is considered around 12k a year so 140k would be around normal/average for your car but these cars are the type of sport/specialty car that some owners tend to do things like store for winters , only use on weekends while driving a daily beater etc...so there are plenty of them around with well below average miles and a fair amount with ultra low miles.

Any LS1 car with less than 100k is going to bring a premium if its in good condition. WHY? because what does everyone want to buy? A LS1 car.

If you don't like the price why bitch about it?

I can tell you the prices have gone up on these cars a lot. The insurance company gave me 14k for my 02 TA with 119k on it. I told them that's what I paid for it 3 years ago. They said the cars are hard to find in good condition and hold their value.

of course condition is EVERYTHING.

Based on the info there, not even with a full tank of gas and a fresh oil change! 10k at most and probably not more than 8,500 to most people.

Again, it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay. That said, if you look into what you may get back out of the car if you left it alone and kept the mileage low, it will likely be 1/2 that 12k(at best), over just a 2-3yr period. You'd need many more pics and generally more information to make a sound decision on that one. Something tells me it isn't going to look a whole bunch better in person than in the "okay" pics shared.
