LS-6 Intake ports
#22
Zach is correct, gas engines are pretty new to me, if you want to know anything about a diesel ask me, 30 years’ experience, so to clarify everything, when someone spends $500.00 on a piece of equipment you want to ensure you’re getting what you pay for, and if you go to the various sites as I have done and ask the same questions would you believe I got the same answer each time... NO… so with getting a bunch of different answers you are going to try and get the correct answer, so I did take the intake to the Chevrolet dealership and the tech explained what he knew, so if he is wrong that’s OK everyone is wrong sometimes in their life, OR he may not understood what I was asking. On the S10 conversion site they tell me about 6 timers you need to match a cathedral port head with a cathedral port intake so when I look at the intake Zach sold me it does not have the same ports as the cathedral ports on my heads, if you can look at the picture and say it looks JUST LIKE the cathedral head I guess I will go have my eyes checked, so just like Zach asked me to do, start a thread and ask the question and you will see what they tell you, so "I DID" and I believe I got the correct answer now, and the bottom line is you ask questions to ensure you know what is correct, no way am I trying to get my money back, just want to ensure I got what is needed for my project instead of finding out that its wrong later down the line. For all that have helped me Thank You, I’m a true believer that a forum is for the people that have questions can come and ask. Last note: there is always someone on a thread that just has to be negative. IE ( he just wants his $$$ back..) what a JA

but its a Rec port instead of a Cathedral, wouldn't that cause turbulence? also I'm sorry about the dead thread thing I just didn't know where to post it, I seen "LS-6 Intake ports" and assumed this would be my best bet for opinions or help instead of starting a new one and nobody finding it. I'm sorry once again.

What in the **** did I just read here..holy Christ.
You don't need damn adapters, it's a direct bolt on.
To every one of you that doesn't get it, every damn LS Intake I've ever seen, and has been made, has a rectangle port. The injector squirts in the top of the "Cathedral" and that atomizes as it goes down that small port into the Valve then into the Cylinder. Pic above is 100% correct.
Rectangle port Intake for Rectangle Port Heads the intake port is wider, not as tall, and the Injector isn't as high up as the one pictured above.
Turbulence causes better atomization. That's why you only polish the Exhaust Ports.
My brain hurts after reading this thread.
