Default I really need some help, new to this cam thing...

All I need is someone to tell me what stock (LS1, LS6, LS10 or whatever) cam will fin in my 1999 6.0 engine without changing the front cover and cam sensor, sprokets, etc.
Maybe there aren't any but I am finding so much information that it's overwhelming. I don't need anything too radical, still running EFI so I would like a "stock" cam if something is out there.

Maybe a picture or two to show how I can tell what I need?

Thanks a million.

Did you read the post? I'm trying not to deal with the cam sensor thing if I can avoid it by getting a cam out of something with the rear sensor.

Not a mechanic but from what I understand the reluctor wheel is on all the cams. It does have different values depending on the year and model of vehicle. I would think any of the sponsors would be able to tell you what cam would work and if you need to upgrade springs.

You need a cam from a GenIII LS motor so the LS6 cam would be the biggest "stock" cam you can get but any three bolt cam will work.

Thanks for the info. so any cam with 3 holes for the timing gear will have the rear cam sensor? If this is true it will definately make things easier.

No... not any cam with 3 holes. Any AFTERMARKET cam with 3 holes will work as they all have the rear cam sensor made into them. But as far as STOCK cams, the BIGGEST one that will work is an LS6 cam. For example, an LS7 cam is a 3 bolt cam, but it doesn't have the rear cam sensor.

Thanks for all the info everyone, I ended up buying a LS6 cam from Summit - $273.00 shipped. Looks to be an easy bolt in.

You'll still want to have it tuned.

cam swaps are fairly easy on these motors.
