i have an old mag article that compared 99 camaro vert to 99 ta vert. im sure the ta was about 40lbs heavier but i'll double check l8tr.

I noticed that the compound my OEM WS6 hood was made from seemed to be quite a bit heavier than the typical "light weight" aftermarket fiberglass hoods. Anyway, the additional weight of the 17x9" wheels and 275mm tires offsets some of the weight lost by the hood, so it's probably close to equal between a WS6 T/A and base T/A.

I know on SS's the ss hood is actually one pound heavier than a Z28 hood. Its all the ram air ducting inside the hood.

2 car & driver articles 3-98 trans am firehawk 98 curb weight 3520 lbs also 8-99 article compares verts SS camaro 3574 vs trans am 3617 lbs. i hope that helps cheers! one more 2-99 a 1999 camaro z28 weighed in at 3443 lbs.

Definitely. The VFN WS6 style hood I had on my 01 T/A was markedly lighter than an OE version.
