Default Which car should I get?

I'm new to this forum but have been following it for some time. Finally, after saving up, I can get a car. Looking to finance a 2005 GTO or buy a 99 Z28, both stock. Someone told me the z28 was quicker than the GTO, but I was wondering, for $6k, there's a 1991 RS that has a 6.0 LS truck engine with an MS4 cam, with stall and 4.10's with 325/50 ET streets weld pro stars, cowl induction hood (thing looks mean as hell). Which one do you guys recommend as far as power and looks. Thanks much!

Well from the sounds of it that 91 will stomp the stock Camaro and GTO

If this is a 2nd car or toy, I wouldn't finance it. A vote for the F body that is also much further along the depreciation curve than the GTO. A '99 Z28 is nearly fully depreciated. And you can find decent ones for not a lot of money. The 1991 is nearly 25 years old and will need constant attention. Sounds like a beast that could be not so much fun when you just want to cruise around. Just remember to buy it "for you" as opposed to "everyone else" since you're the one that will have to live with it the other 95% of the time.

if your going to get a 98-02 i would recommend getting an 01 or 02 z28 or ss... they have better heads and intake. little bit better start for when you decide to start modding.

Or find a '98-'00 that is already modded with the easier upgrades such as the intake. The '01-'02 will tend to run another $1K over the earlier years. A blistered roof on the '99-'02 is another variable which will cost a lot more money to fix than swapping out an intake. I'd rather not deal with that and just find a pre-April '98 knowing I can leave it out in the sun and not get a surprise some day.
