Curious where your guys idle and vac #'s fall. Just wondering if what I have is as good as it gets or is my tune off/not perfectly optimized.
LQ9, 218/223 112lsa BTR cam, 83lb injectors, 2800+ converter
In gear, I idle at 830 and about 19" of vacuum. Any lower idle and it gets to unstable. I thought I could go lower but I can't at this point.
Where's your guys combo at? Please use in-gear figures or at least mention you have a manual trans.
Thanks!!!

Now I have a 226/230 in a manual and it purrs right along at 750 all day in gear or neutral.

That's weird. I had a bigger cam (223/230 also in a 6.0 with 2800 stall) and while I had it idle at 700 for the most part...I could get it down to as low as 600 and it would still be ok. Sounds like you need a tune adjustment, and those injectors are huge unless you're running a shitton of boost.

When I had my 233/239 cam with a 3600 stall, it idled between 650-700rpm's when it was hot in drive. I had him raise my idle 50rpm because sometimes when I'd just start taking off and have to get out of throttle onto the break real quick, it acted like it was going to die. Sounds like possibly your tune?
My new cam is smaller, running 80lb injectors with boost, and the tuner has my idle between 800-850rpm's. But with the cam I have now, I would think it could easily go to 600rpms. It could be like you said though, possibly because of boost? I never really thought about it or questioned it.

The 218/223 cam was a rough-runner (in my mind) but I think it made the power in boost where it needed to.
I just installed a later model LS6 cam and WOW...what a difference. Apprx 24" of vac, stable idle. Right now 650 idle, once I work on the idle I think it will do 600 rpm. I do believe that the 83lbs injectors just dont want to go any lower than that.
