Default 2005 6.0 build question

Guys, first thanks in advance for any info you can supply...

I have a 2005 6.0 out of a 2500 series truck going into my 87 S10. My question is, I have a set of LS3 heads a LSA cam we are planning on putting on this. Just looking for a bit more from this stock engine. Has anyone done this and if so how much do you think it picked up HP wise?

Should make nice power in the mid 400s to the tire.

Flat tops will help...but so will a 4.030/4.040 bore also. We have all 3 options available.
The flat top stock bore will drop in no issues. They run $320 for pistons AND rings either way!

How well will the flat tops work if we throw a small shot at it. We went the turbo route with a 5.3 in a different build... I just don't want to throw all that money at this build.

I am doing a similar build on a 88 S10. Are you gonna use the 4l80e?
