Default Removed broken manifold bolts.

Sunday funday. All 3 broken Manifold header bolts removed. Might have to helicoil one of the threads or figure out something different. Bottom assembly going to the shop to get balanced tomorrow. Practiced alot of my darker vocabulary today!

Pain in the **** either way. But over now. Going to get my gasket list all ready. I imagine it will take a week or so at the machine shop. Thanks for all your help.

I need to get OEM rod and crank bolts. I will be on #3 x's torqueing these down (factory 1, pre assembly 2, final assembly 3) and would like to get new stock bolts. All I can find is new versions that claim stronger clamping but this might be an issue since I already have clearance done.

Default Heads back from getting cleaned.

A few shots of the heads after getting cleaned up and Heli coil installed in one hole. Next will be some mild porting. Not sure if I plan on going bigger valves at this time. Balance should be complete next week so I am excited to get this buttoned up for the winter.

Manifold bolt hole fixed on the left.

I've heard that installing the larger 2" intake valves is only good for another 6-7 cfm unless you plan to de-shroud the chamber some around the valve. Just something to keep i mind.

Default Balanced assembly is back

Machine shop said that everything was pretty close. He was even suprised.

I pre assembled the Mains to check crank clearances with some platigage.
1,2,4,5= .0015,
3=.001-.0015

I am pretty happy with that.

Machine shop was rather pricey on doing the valve work for 2". I think I will wait until the bottom end is complete and revisit my head options.

Pic of installer?

I personally like and use 2. Either the band style (you can rent from local parts store for like $12) and the tapered ring. The style with the pliers are pretty hard to handle and i dont like them.
