Might want to ask this in the engines subforum. Or maybe a mod could move it.

Texas Seed used to have the PRC 5.3 Heads but I don’t see them on their website anymore, maybe they will Chime in @Trevor @ Texas Speed & Perf.

Texas speed still has them. I sent my 862's to them and they look awesome! milled .030 to clean up DEXcool erosion...

Ported and milled 4.8/5.3L (706/862) factory heads are a great head. There is more expensive aftermarket options as well though, https://www.trickflow.com/parts/tfs-30510001-c00. If you search on tech here you'll find some good results with them but they are really only suited for 5.7L or smaller.

+1 for the texas speed 862 heads. They cnc ported the intake, exhaust and chamber, cut them down to 58cc, valve job, bigger valves, dual springs w/ titanium retainers, all assembled and shipped back for i think a little over 1100$. If you put them next to some brand new heads you would not be able to tell they were on a truck for 200K miles.

I'm gonna call BS on the "dexcool erosion" Just pulled the heads off my 06 Corvette, LS2 and they were in PERFECT condition. nothing but dexcool and distilled water{ about 4-5 change-outs in 13 years} and I've looked at 100's of pics of heads and all looked great! if you havn't been taking care of your cooling system don't blame dexcool, which BTW is DESIGNED for aluminum.

I got these heads on a engine I bought, I have had no issues with my engines but if you don't change it periodically it will become acidic and erode the heads etc. This was a 1999 engine and was locked up , I got it for cheap as I like a challenge. Feel free to call Texas Speed and ask them about the erosion problems that arise. Talk to Aaron. Not necessary to bust my chops for trying to salvage someone else's error...

Dexcool is crap and always was. It was the answer to a problem nobody had. Flush it out and run generic green coolant and your engine will be just fine.
