I can't answer for the OP but we sure have been there. We are heading down again soon for the apple season around Ellijay and Blue Ridge. We used to like having lunch at the lodge overlooking the Amicalola Falls. It's been years now but if they are open we may try again. Such beautiful quiet country.

Agreed. I didn't read it as much as the third gear pull between corners but if that's his intent it could be problematic as you describe. If for highway 3rd gear pulls I see it as an easy solution and relatively inexpensive compared to other options.

I’m 4 miles from the lodge, across from faucets lake on 136…bottom of burnt mtn. Eagle Ridge neighborhood.

A built engine never costs as little as you think or plan. Lot's of little costs you don't consider pop up along the way and turn a $5k build in to a $10-$15k build.

A set of ported 243's, a 228 cam, injectors/fuel pump and you'll be making 420-430whp with that ls6 intake. Throw in a set of 3.90-4.10 gears and you'll have what you want.

if you are willing to spend that kind of money on a built engine...... just put an ls3 in it and call it a day. power and reliability and room to grow when the bug bites again.
