how bout 4.88 gears front and rear, a NX proton shark nozzle kit jetted at about 125 shot, tr6 or br7ef plugs gapped about .030 or .035, some long tubes, and a tune. then get rid of some weight like 3rd row seats and spare tire. that might be enough to get the win right there and not break the bank.

Honestly to me, that sounds like I would only get one hard pull and then boom

nah, ive ran 15+ bottles through a 180k mi 4.8 its all in the tune and plugs. eventually it'll blow just like anything else. but it will expose any thing week like old 4l60. just a cheaper option to think about and just use it when you really need it. in my opinion it'd make more sense to just drive that thing how it is and find a fun project truck like a s-10 or old jeep commanche or whatever and make that your fun toy so you can work on that LS swap in your garage while still making your mortage payment. i dont know but reading back on this thread you have some thinking to do for sure.
