http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=en&cardist=49

this car has been on autotrader for literally months and months. personally, i'd buy a new Z06 for the money! insanity (even if it is that yellow collectors edition - which i don't even like, it screams "please break into me" and "please pull me over").

and just for the record, i would NEVER buy a car with aftermarket heads or an aftermarket cam. the last thing i'd wanna do is get into someone else's nightmare - and for all i know it could have been a nightmare. i'd want my car as stock as possible. that's why i bought mine with the SLP package. they're factory intake/exhaust so i know it was never modded but yet it still has a catback on it so that saves me hundreds in the long run.

stock>modded any day for value (unless you find that punk rich kid to resell it to)

Here in California you could easily find a ls1 z28 for about 8-9 but it'll have at least 80,000 miles. An ss wil easily be about 13 in fair condition. Look to spend anywhere from 17-25 for a clean ss, trans am, or firehawk.

My 2000 was stolen earlier this year. I paid $23,999.00 in September 2000. I searched hard for a good, low-mile 2001-2002 WS6 six-speed. I found several throughout the country. Some examples: 2001, NBM, 18,000 miles - $24,000; 2002, NBM, 2,900 miles - $28,500.00; 2002, SOM, 29 miles! - $29,000.00.

I found mine here in Houston. 2001 WS6, 6 speed, Black - $22,400.00

There are more out there less expensive, but with over 40,000 miles and usually some type of modifications.

I'm happy with mine, even with a payment again.

Locally the price seems to have risen, especially for the WS6/Firehawk/SS models I did a search of the local classifieds, and they were all asking in the neighborhood of $29k and up

Really? I went to Arnold Chevrolet down in Amityville, L.I. for my Camaro. Two summers ago I paid 20K for a 2000 SS with a little under 30K on it. I didn't like the price, I liked the car. The dealership sucked, as did the rides to and from (NY drivers are nuts ). The price seemed high if anything, and there really weren't any better deals within a few hundred miles of me, which includes Long Island.

Sure, from a stealership... For instance, My car, in perfect condition, a 2002, leather, t-tops, m6 would only fetch me 8K via private party. Granted ive got 100K miles on it already, but its been very well maintained and is in near perfect condition. Luckilly I dont plan on selling the car EVER. Hopefully, Ill retire her to a trailer queen / weekend warrior soon, then the real mods can start!

Yeah here in Columbus, OH the value of the WS6's seem to hold a high value, but as far as an SS goes, you don't see many for sale at all here, maybe 1 or 2 every few months for sale that i have seen, but the ones that have been for sale are very pricey, say around $30,000/$32,000 with 4-5,000 miles on them!

All about supply and demand. I have a relative that buys fbody's at auction and parts them out as his second job and he thinks a lot of young kids are getting their hands on the 4th gen fbody's and wrapping them around poles. He has bought more totaled 4th gen's in the last month than any other month and he says the trends have been climbing since last year. 300+ HP is a lot to put in the hands of a new driver. I know it would have surely killed me at 16. I'm lucky to be alive and I only had a 150 HP car at 16

It is getting harder and harder to get "mint" condition fbody's around me and the prices are just insane! I saw a guy selling an SS anniversary for sticker price and the car had 40k miles on it. I think prices rise in the spring/summer anyway. I think the best time to buy a 4th gen fbody around me is in the middle of winter. Not many people enjoy driving these cars in the snow/ice.

Oh and I know it's different depending where you live about around me there are more 4th gen Pontiacs for sale than Z28's or SS's. Just about every lot has a T/A or fake WS6 sitting in front but not many have Z28's or SS's. Even on the road I see many more T/A's than SS's.

I can hardly find any f-bodies for sale in upstate NY. When they are for sale, some are retardedly prices, while others are resonable. Finding them in manuals is rough for the v-8's. I'm working on a deal with a guy n VT right now.

Yea but the guy on this board from NM selling his has it SC'd and has done a lot of mods to it. He has had it up for months though and no one wants it for the price he has listed. As people always say, mods hurt a cars value unless you find the buyer who wants them.

Just because a car may have heads and cam with other modds does not make it a nightmare. If it was done right and tuned right you will have a fast trustworthy car.

Yup. An LS1 F-body can be had for under $7k if you aren't picky.

Put my 01SS 6sp with a couple flaws (hole in seat and pourly touched up paint chip about a nickle in size) for 13.5 with no serious buyers. I'm not heart broken just bored of them. This is my 6th f-body and fourth 4th gen. Guess this is a buyers market on ls1tech?
