I freakin LOVE cars that come with forced induction from the factory. They're so cheap to mod!

Get the F-body! every girl and her momma has a stang. Yeah the 03/04 Cobra has a blower, around 50 more hp and cost about 7k more, BUT if you take that 7k and buy you a blower for the LS1 or, hell you can stroke the motor the Slobra could not hold a light to the LS1. You wont loose with the F-body!
I would never consider trading my SS for a Slobra.
If I saw a Mustang on fire I would'nt **** on it! let'em burn

Ford Mustang Cobra Recall
April 11, 2006
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for 19,140 of the 2003 and 2004 Ford Mustangs because the carpeting may cause the accelerator pedal to fail to return to the idle position.
NHTSA says the carpeting could interfere with the pedal's ability to return to the idle position causing unexpected, continued throttle application and increased stopping distances that could result in a crash.
"On certain Mustang Cobra passenger vehicles," NHTSA warns, "the rear surface of the accelerator pedal may come into contact with the floor carpeting during heavy application. The unique surface profile of the accelerator pedal may catch the cutout on the floor carpeting behind the pedal."
Ford dealers will install a shield over the cutout in the carpet behind the accelerator pedal.
The recall will begin on April 26. Mustang Cobra owners may contact ford at 1-800-392-3673 or NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153).

i've got nothing against ford - i think GM and Ford are like McD's and Burger King.. both put out relatively crappy products on pretty much the same level..
i owned a mustang prior to my t/a - and although i am not biased - i wouldn't get another one. i feel waaaay too cramped in a mustang. like im in this little box..can't relax at all.
i'm by no means a big guy either - 6'0 - 175lbs.
hell, even my wife which is 5'7 / 115 lbs says the mustang is pretty much a chicks car..![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
i too felt the the dash board is huge.. got used to that in about a week.

my last ride was 91 camaro and you all know the dash length on those and then i bought 00 t/a and It took me prolly a few days to get used to the dash, but gettiing used to not see how far the nose is cause the ws6 hood took a little longer.. Just test ride both cars and see what you like// either way you'll be fast

I definitely vote for the TA based on personal preference. In my opinion, the trans am is much more sporty and aggressive looking, i love how it sits - it feels like american muscle. Although the features of the TA are fairly basic, theyre all well placed and useful. I definitely don't like the feel of the musty's interior, it just feels cheap, boxed, and crampy. i'm just not a fan of any part of it.
Get the car that 'feels' the most right for you, and 'looks' best for you. Speed will fall into place for you one way or another (particularly if you have the $$$$), but the overall experience, can only change so much.
Whichever one you decide to go with, good luck, enjoy it, and take pride in it.

I like the Cobra.. but it is far to expensive for what it is. You could purchase a 2002 SS for 1/2 the cost easily with decently low miles. yes its not as fast stock. But with the money you saved you would eat a cobra up with ease. Thats if modding is your thing. If not and you just want stock fast, go with the Cobra. I have respect for anyone who chooses to drive american muscle of any kind.

been said many times, spend the money and go fast stock w. a cobra or spend less and mod (which makes YOUR CAR YOUR CAR, and not like every other cobra/TA/SS)
best bang for ur buck is always an LS1
personally i LOVE the Fbody looks better... plus they're much less of them
take ur time, pick whats right for you and what will make you happy based on what your plans are, which ever you pick you'll be happy
i would never own a mustang again, too much headache when i had mine, I VOTE LS1 obviously

I honestly can't recommend an F-body over a Cobra.

I don't think the dash is too long. Its only a pain in the *** for me trying to clean the lower part of the windows, and when I armor all the front of the dash I get that stuff on the bottom of the glass. I had two 3rd gens before my 94z28, way easier to clean the dash in those. I just used my huge dash to mount my autometer tach in the corner. A friend with a fox body said doesen't that get in your view, then sat in the car and realized that I can see alot! You can't mount things to a Mustang dash, you can't see anything then. I don't seem to have the issues of seeing the end of my hood and I'm 5'11" and don't have the power seats.
The 4th gen Fbody does feel a lot more spacious than the Mustangs, but I didn't feel cramped in the 03 Mach1 I drove, and I had no problem shifting it either. If I had the cash I would have bought the Mach1 I drove, I'm sure the Cobra would only be better.
Someone mentioned if modding or not also, that would be a big decision, its not cheap replacing 4 cams!
Its all in preference, this thread has been going on a while, have you decided??

My best frends neighbor has a vert cobra and he always has it in the garage fixing something. They are bad *** cars if you leave them stock. When you start modding a cobra you have to worry about blowing things up. I would get the LS1

If I can afford it there is an 03/04 cobra in my future. Don't get me wrong, I like my camaro but I love the way a black cobra looks and if I could I would have one now. Just go with the one you think looks better, both are fast cars.
