Default My t-tops pulled James Bond...

Yea I'm pretty shitty at the moment. I was at my buddys having a few beers and whatnot and then we decided to let off some fireworks. Well I just detailed the **** out of my car when I got off work so it was looking immaculate. I started to put my t-tops on because I didn't want the debris from the fireworks going in my car. My buddys brother said he would put on the passenger side...well he didn't quite do that. He put it on but he didn't latch it. So pretty much when I pulled out of the neighborhood I heard some glass break behind me and I thought someone got in a wreck, and thats when I saw that there wasn't a passenger side t-top. Now I get to spend all day tomorrow going junkyard to junkyard searching for a new one. Might as well say I'm going to have to drive to BFE to get one becuase when I had my Camaro and was looking for interior trim pieces, there wasn't one to be found in a 10 mile radius. A word to the wise...ALWAYS LATCH YOUR T-TOPS EVEN IF SOMEONE ELSE PUTS THEM ON!!!

wow, i would've kicked that guy's ***. He just cost you an arm an a leg for a t-top because he was an idiot an didnt know how to put in a t-top. If somebody helps me i'll usually watch them out of the corner of my eye to make sure they put it in right an its latched an its not goin anywhere-I'll push up on it an make sure its locked down after that. sorry about your luck but i'd tell that guy what happened an make him buy you a new one.

if he's any kind of friend at all, he would realize he made a mistake and buy you a new one. if he wont, he deserves to get the **** kicked out of him.

Well I found one and it was fairly cheap but it'll work for the time being. I think its from a mid 90s Camaro or whatnot. I figured the guy would know how to put it on seeing that his brother is one of my best friends and he has a ws6, but I guess not.

There's a junkyard North of Indy on US 31 that might have a few. If you take 31 up to the Cicero area, you'll see the G.W. Pierce junkyard. Right across the road from them is another junkyard called Dad's Auto Salvage I believe. I know they have a few fourth-gen 'birds because I've seen them sitting in their yard by looking over the top of their wooden privacy fence (I was in my truck at the time).

If that doesn't help you any, you could always try our site sponsor Tennessee Auto.

I'm going to get one off of tennessee auto like someone posted earlier (thanks for the link by the way) because its only $145 plus shipping which is a hell of alot cheaper than $300+. And from now on, not even the pope himself, will put my t-tops on, only me.

oh and if anyone might need one from a 93-94 rh side i will sell it fairly cheap when i get my replacement if anyone is interested.

Same here bro. I think I can get a new lock cylinder at the Stealership. Their is a number and letter on your door key to figure it out.

I was close once. I put my tops back on one night but didn't even turn the handle on the pass. side. I didn't because the door was locked. I was planning on getting back in the car and doing it, but never did. Next day I was driving on this country road doing 60 + and I hear wind like my window isn't all the way up. I was like wtf is that noise, the windows are up! I look over and see the top kinda lifting up like it wanted to fly off. I about shait and locked it in like .0001 seconds after I figured it out.

i almost lost my passenger side t-top in a simalir situation, i went to pass a few cars in the passing zone and as soon as i hit 60ish i started to hear this vaccum noise, i looked up right as it started to lift i shot my hand up and managed to grab a side of as it some how as it was lifting off, so then i was awkardly stretched across my car, holding the t thats just about to fall off the back, stuck in 3rd gear and just about past the lead car still in the on comming lane...lol damn that won't happen again

My best friend has a 97 V6 w/ T-tops and his came off a year ago on the freeway while he was doing 80mph! It was his fault though. He unlatched it himself and opened it just enough so that he can hauk a loogee at the car in back of him for tail-gating. Yea well........ he missed with the loogee but hit them dead on with the T-top! Not verry smart!
