Default how to identify a true ss?

under the vin # for a 2002 camaro ss, what would part would it be that states it's a true ss? and not just a clone.

Service Parts Identification Tag is best way to tell, look for WU8

If you think its a clone, check for the WU8 code on the door. If its there then compare then compare the door VIN to the one on the dash. If they both match your good to go. Although I really havnt heard of anyone switching doors to try and fool anyone.

heres a fun one: if youre in a parking lot/drive in soemtime and someone tries to pass off their car as an SS/WS6, check for a power steering cooler. If its mostly stock and he doesnt have one, odds are its a clone. if you cant check the door.
