First of all, they ARE making them again, the 5th gen f-body will be out in 08-09. Secondly, they don't make Yugo's anymore, that doesn't make them cool.

I like vettes also, I'm into handling, but I need a back seat. I think the LS1 is superior to an LT1. I've had both w 6-speeds. If budget is your limiting factor the f-body is your better choice. High mileage, age, and just being a vette are working against any budget. I would say if you cannot get a C5 get an LS1 f-body. You'll get alot more for your $.

Another vote for LS1. Then you can hand it to lt1's like I do
But before you buy I would take a look at 97-98 C5 vettes. You might be surprised at what you can find for under 20K.

C4's are UGLY! Look like Bananas. I really dont like C5's any more since the C6 came out. But why sell a 96 SS to get a older car? Dont go backwards. 1997 C5's are only $17,000-$21000 here
