93 Corvette or 98 LS1 F-body
Hey guy's, I'm in the process of selling my 96 SS and I'm looking to upgrade. I can't afford a C5, so that's out of the question Anyway, what I can afford to put it short is a 93-ish Corvette or a 98 only F-body. I know they both have pro's and con's and was looking for some thoughts on this. I know the 93 is an LT1 and has a bit of old technology, but it's a Vette! Although the the F-body has the LS1!! Any feed back would be great!!! Thanks guy's!

Personally, I think the C4 body style is UGLY. 98 LS1 hands down. Then again, you would be SUPRISED how cheap you can get a C5 for. I see a 97-98 vette with higher mileage (80-130k) go for $14-17k all day.

I wouldn't even consider selling my F-Body for a C4. C5 or C6 definitely, but the C4 is a step backwards from a 98 F-body in every aspect, except maybe for handling.
I think the 98-02 F-Bodies looks much better than the C4 Vettes, and combined with the fact that LS1 > LT1, I'd say go with the F-Body

Go F-Body. We always think well we can get a better car with a few years on it and it will be the same price as a newer but cheaper car. But truth be told the f-bodies are beyond an incredible value. I mean an f-body for $10k can be bought with 305+hp and boatloads of torque. See how far $10k gets you on a c4 or porsche. lol it'll be a POS. f-bodies are still going to take it even used for bang for the buck. You won't give anything up.

Coming from a happy LT1 owner, who can hand it to LS1's, I'd go with the 98 Camaro.
Unless its an LT4 Vette with a 6 Speed, I wouldn't consider it. And even though its a Vette, why would you want to go from a 96 SS LT1 to a 93 Vette LT1 anyways?
( or, just get an LT5 )
Anyways....
It would make more sense to mod the LT1... For the money youre lookin at, you could get an LE2 Package with Forged Internals, and whoop 95% of the LS1's you'd meet.

Man, LS1 FTW!!! You will forever be saying "how can I make this as fast as an LS1" sorry, been there, done that. I will be joining the LS1'ers early next year. Wondering if you should go 'vette or LS1 is kinda saying "Should I bet on Bruce Lee, or could this other guy take him because his sunglasses are cool and he flexes and screams a lot?"

'96 SS to C4 is hardly an upgrade if a '98 f-body is within your grasp. I'm alright with the C4's styling, but IMO it has nothing on a TA/Z28, not to forget that the LS1 takes the cake.

A C-4 vette is as fast a 4th gen camaro (93-97) and they are good lookin.But it's personal choice,I had a new 93 vette with a 6 spd it was a blast.I like the ls-1,but I don't really like the ls1 camaro front ends.

If it was a 96 vette or the LS1 car I think I would go with the vette given similar mileages. I think the C4 Vette is beautiful but I wouldn't go with a much older car unless I was planning on doing a lot of work anyway. Older cars are gonna need mroe than just engine work and Vette's are not cheap to work on.
