Default 600RWHP N/A out of a 402??

Ok, so I know a guy that says he can build a 402 LS1 w/ a Z06 cam and make 600 RWHP N/A this seems like a total bullshit claim to me since guys w/ 402s running fairly aggressive cams seem to only be hitting the 550s. Is this BS or am I missing something.

Sorry , maybe this is the wrong forum , but I'm not really sure where it would fit.

Nope not n/a with that cam.

Assuming a Ls6 with bolt on's is capable of 450bhp SAE Net, then a 402ci running the same state of tune (same cam) should in theory be able to see ~520bhp SAE Net. A good set of heads would make a big difference. So theoretically they may be able to get to 550-560bhp SAE Net with that cam, however I'm willing to bet that it would be unlikely as such setups hardly ever produce the numbers in the real world.

Either way that's still a long long way off 600rwhp.

is he talking about flywheel hp..or to the wheels.... VERY large details. 520rhp=roughly 600 flywheel hp given a 15% loss. But even that why a baby zo6 cam is very unlikely.

If so I took the hard way to the HP race, and I still couldn't keep up with the Z06 cammed 402!

Nope, he is talking at the wheels. I thought it sounded like a pretty outlandish claim. Turns out I was right

If it has a ram air hood like the WS6 or SS, then hell yeah!
