Why are the 01-02 worth alot more?
Im currently looking for a ls1 4th gen and havnt been having the best lucking finding a nice one. I am thinking about going to look at a 00 SS whats the reason the 01-02's are worth alot more there isnt that many big differences. I know they have a ls6 intake and some have the ls6 block. Anything else I should know about.

Another thing I have noticed is that just about EVERYONE on here has an 01' 02' F-Body...LOL!
Granted there are 98'/00' models on here but...it at least seems that the majority are 01'+...
I know that when they (01'+) were new,GM was offering lots of incentives like 0% financing which I think contributed to bigger sales..
When it comes down to it,they all kick a$$ though...

i got the el 99 model it's pretty cool. i think i read in some of this stuff that it has a larger cam than the 98;'s but smaller injectors or something than the 00-02 models. must be why i get almost 400 miles to a tank with the 2.73's haha

The 2002 were the highest seeling LS1 Camaros of the 98-02 era, 2001 was the least purchased. Since the 2001 model and the 2002 models are identical (sans interior 35th badge), I think this is why they warrant higher prices from consumers. Just a guess though.

Its just a newer model with a smaller vortec cam and a LS6 intake to make up for the diference. In all reallity,.....it's just newer,..thats it! The 00 is your best bet. Larger Cam and its cheaper to just add an LS6 intake if you want as opposed to swap'n cams.

Personally I think they are worth a little more.
Obvious reasons
1. LS6 intake.
2. LS6 Clutch & hydrolics
3. No EGR
Other
1. They Dyno the highest stock
2. They respond the best to being tuned, Highest gains.
3. Best stock Track times

1. LS6 intake. ...true. But 01 and 02 have smaller cams!
2. LS6 Clutch & hydrolics ...This is true,...for those with 6 speeds. Not those with A4s!
3. No EGR ...EGR Free mods on LS1s help even things out a bit.
Other
1. They Dyno the highest stock:....5HP advantage,.WOW!(a whop'n 4.25 to the rear!)
2. They respond the best to being tuned, Highest gains. ...Huh?!
3. Best stock Track times ...Huh?!
I'd like proof of the last two honestly!
Like I said,...It's just newer! Oh and it has 5hp more than 98,99 and 00.

I have probably strapped down 100's of f-bodies to the Dyno, and normally see the 01/02's dyno ~10rwhp more than other years. As for the tunning, most of the cars seem to show ~15rwhp on the 01/02 cars where 98-00 seem to see ~10. Small gains, but gains still the same. I have seen several 02 cars in the 330-340 range stock with tunning. Right at where most 98-00's are with headers.
I have an 00 SS, and did get 12.8 @ 110 with just tunning on stock tires, but have seen more 02's in the 12's in stock trim. We have a local guy running 12.1 with lid/Cat-back tunnning & suspention mods in his 02 firehawk.
