Wow, just found this, look at how many miles are on some of these cars!!! I am impressed. Good look for anyone wondering how these things hold up long-term.

That's why I'm not concerned about buying mine with 57k on it. I was really looking for low mileage cars but I was having more trouble just finding one that wasn't modded and beat to hell.
I've been told the LS1 will last for a real long time with proper maintenance.

high milage cars FTW!! 103k here... some other locals are above 100k as well, and most run cams/spray/etc.
in fact, a friend of mine has a 02 z28 with 21k miles, and he's always complaining about the noises it makes, piston slap, ticking etc, while mine is quiet as can be. just goes to show miles dont always determine the state of the car.

I have 123k on mine. 100k isn't really that high of mileage these days, with oils being at the quality level they are, and people getting their oil changed routinely. Just doing that can keep a motor running for a long while. I'd be worried about the trans and rear on a high mileage ls1 car before I'd worry about the motor.

these are very strong motors...unlike some other cast from other companies....but if you keep up minor maintance they could run tech. forever.....when i used to do rebuild in college...i saw a 98 z with over 200k on it...and minus the normal wear, it was a very clean and tight motor.....

Not an LS1, but I had 128k on the ole' LT1, and it still ran like a raped ape. Never even had to do a valve adjustment or anything. Considering I bought it when it already had 103k on the clock, I was never worried about the motor being shot. I was more concerned about the clutch, tranny, and the state of the rear end. Gotta give props to its previous owners for taking such good care of it .
