Default Just drove 960 miles got 28 mpg

I just drove my car 960 miles from Florida to Jersey, and the whole way here I got 28.25 miles per gallon. Now that is bad assed coming from a 5.7 V8. Car was reliable as hell, the way up here, I turned 86k on the odometer. Anyone else road trip their f-body?

That's close to what I have gotten on a road trip before. That was before the cam though. On the way back to Texas from Kentucky last month I got around 25.2. Still not bad at all. Many people ask about my gas mileage and are very surprised when I tell them.

That's awesome. People never believe the gas mileage that these cars are capable of when I mention it to them as well.

Default Outstanding!

Never more than 24 MPG on my '96 LT1 or '01 LS1 but if I could cruise at a steady 70 I'm sure I could improve. Just so hard to keep the speed down. What did you keep your speed at??

I am a college student and I drive my car from albany NY to school in Charlotte NC. I also visit my girlfriend who is going to Villanova, just outside of Philly. I usually get around 29 MPG on the highway. I try to find some one that is flying that I can drive behind. Cuts down on wind resistance and it's fun. I find people with NJ liscence plates are the best ones to follow, hahaha.

I recently drove from North Central Ohio to Dallas, Texas (~1,150 miles) and averaged 27 MPG.

I get 26 on the highway but around town is where my car just sucks up the gas with 14 mpg. Can't get any mileage driving around town in Southern Ca.

My Formula has been cross country and back three times. I drive 5-8mph over the posted limit. When I had 3.42's I would average 27-28mpg with the t-tops out most of the time with a all time high of a little over 30mpg with a good tail wind in MN. With my Moser 12 bolt with 4.11's I average 25mpg even with the cruise set at 78mph. Here is a link to some of my road trip pic's this is why my 02 has 124,000 miles on it.

Haha, being from NJ, I wouldn't trust them so much. If you follow someone from NJ they're likely to crash into you lol, but seriously, these fools crash everyday around here and the traffic sucks.

I got 32MPG round trip from Fort Worth to San Antonio. But I only had the car two weeks at that point and still not used to the power. I set the cruise control to the speed limit @ 65 or 70. My wife was impressed. She didn't want me buying the car complaining about the gas milage.

Then we turn around and buy her a Chrysler Pacifica which only gets 17 to 23.

NJ People drive slow as hell whenever there around Mass. It's either tools from Quebec, Maine, New Hampshire, Florida, New Jersey, New York and Vermont plates that I'm usually stuck behind pissed off. Yes, I drive like an stereotyped Masshole.

P.S. To stay on Topic I once got a little over 30MPG on a tank I usually avg 28mpg highway.

Not sure what gas milage i got but i went on a road trip a couple years ago. Went from Evansville IN (where i lived) to Panama City Fl (for Spring Break )stayed there for 3 weeks then went from there to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and stayed there for 2-3 weeks to see the ocean and lounge. then i got a hankering to go to see another ocean so i drove to Northern Cali. and stayed at my Ocean side motel for 2 weeks and liked to so much i moved here and still here . There is nothing like listening to the LT's-Catted Y-GMMG with the t-tops out. and people ask me how i only owned the car 3 years and had 20K on the ODO. now its at 85K. well it was before i totalled it 6 months ago (crazy *** Cali drivers )
