Default oil change light?

oil change light appears when i start the car and lasts about 1 min then goes off. the oil is fine its only got 1500 miles on it so it doesn't need to be changed. im not very familiar with the ls1's i had a 96 3.8l 6 before so maybe this is something its supose to do or maybe because its cold its doing it.

You just need to tell the computer that the oil has been changed. Look in your owners manual. You either hold the trip odometer button for 7 seconds or pump the gas pedal 5 times in 3 seconds with the key in the 'acc on' position or something like that.

if urs is like mine then after u change the oil u turn the key to the on position without starting the car and hold the trip/odometer switch down for i think its 7 or so seconds and it will go out. if u change ur oil cause u see the light then u need to reset it after u change it, it will not shut off automatically after u change it.

This info got reversed. It's actually 3 pumps of the accelerator at least 5 seconds apart while the key is in the "on" position.

10w 30, i herd someone say that the light comes on becasue the comp calculates miles and everytime your start up the car. if thats the case then i might know why. i have to move my car around the drive way to let ppl in and out the garage so that might be why.
