Default On road trip and rpms wont drop :(

When I take my foot off the gas in gear (M6) the car slows as it should. When I push in the clutch and put it in N and foot OFF the gas, rpms drop 1-200 then slowly glide up to 2500ish. I have no SES light. Sometimes it does this, sometimes they hesitantly drop, other times (once) my rpms dropped to 600 and refused to go up again to the normal 750-800. This problem is fixed when I shut off/re-crank it.

I think this might be the IAC, where is it located on an F-body? Is it that selenoid thing on the upper/driver side of the TB area? Opinions? Help, this sucks

Okay, removed/sprayed IAC with de-greaser. RPMS drop a lot faster, idle smoother, problem fixed.

1200 miles on 10-30 M1 EX performance, 80% highway

@1/4 qt. used. Sounds like my LS1 doesnt drink much oil at all, considering most LS1's go through M1 like gangbusters. Will be goin with 0-30 GC next oil change, hopefully it wont make the valvetrain louder like 10-40 Syntec did anywho, loving it

I was seeking advice as to WHY my rpms rocketed to 2500 when I put it in neutral...I just found out for myself before anyone got a chance to tell me, and posted my findings for those of you who may or may not have/run into this problem. Creating an archive, if you will, for this problem, so that in the future someone with "search" could find it. When I searched it, I got hazy/half baked info that may or may not relate to my issue.

DO NOT! press/pull on the "rubber plunger thing" it could hurt it, just hose the snot out of it with carb-cleaner and try to squirt it into its internals. hose her out good and you may be able to avoid buying a new one

I just replaced the IAC, it was randomly killing the car in off-throttle situations. NOT COOL! All is well $200 later (GM scanning to PROVE it was not the fuel pump ect. and a new IAC from Oreilys)
