shortest time uve had a car before selling/trading
Just curious what is the shortest amount of time you guys have ever owned a car before you traded / sold it to buy a different car.
I love my SS, and i love the low milage.. but #1 it is a hardtop (i wanted t-tops). #2 its cloth interior (i kinda want leather). #3 its white.. i perfer black, only because whte can't really shine.. plus, my V6 was white..
I'm debating on selling it if i can find a good deal on a black SS with low miles... that has t-tops.. but ive only owned my car for like 2.5 months!
Am I crazy? or has anyone else thought the way i do.. I probably won't end up selling, but im curious as to what you guys think. I know what i have is fairly rare, cloth interior hardtop 2001 SS, and its the lighter weight then most.. but im not really looking for an all out race car.. i want something that i can take the t-tops off in the summer time and enjoy driving.. and race it at the same time if im in the mood!

When i bought it, it had been garaged for 2 years.. only started up every few months. The dealership that I bought it from said when they brought it in.. it had cobwebs on the interior from sitting for so long.. It still has the dealership plastic on the carpet, which i refuse to take off. The guy traded it for a down payment on a C6 Z06.

I owned an '87 Toyota Camary for 15 hours. Someone ran a stop sign and destroyed it. I was lucky to walk away without any injury.
Personally, I'd rather have your white SS than a black SS. T-tops are nice, but a hardtop is cool too because of the rarity. As for leather, I've had a lot of cars with leather and though it does look nicer it's just not as comfortable in the hot weather as cloth.

12 months 2004 gto, biggest loss i have ever i had with a vehicle. Bought it right when it hit the lot for $32,000 and sold it for 18,500 after 12 months and 26,000 miles. I missed my 02 som ws6, so i went out found a 01 som ws6. GTO was fun but, i needed a car i could brake the rearend and be able to fix it without spending $2500- F-body 10bolts are a dime a dozen ( i am currently gathering parts for my moser 9)

well actually I totaled my very first financed car after 4 months just after high school graduation. so not counting that, 2 years shortest I kept before trading.
i think you're SS looks tight. if you're paid off and really wanted to switch why do it if you got a good deal + low miles + nothing really wrong with your car.

Make the change
It isn't crazy at all. Sometimes it just wasn't the right choice. It seemed like it at the time but then something hits you. As long as you don't get killed financially, make the change. Once it is in your mind that you don't like 'white' or whatever else about the car, it will bug you to death. Lots of nice F-bodies are out there all over the country just like the one you want, so if you don't mind spending a weekend driving to get one if necessary, go get it. Good luck!!

I think your car looks really good, except for maybe the pin stripe along the side. I understand missing the T-tops, my car is a hardtop and I kinda wish it had T-tops like my previous Camaro's, but I love the rest of my car so I just go without them. Bottom line though, if you really don't like your car, trade it for another. In the long run you'll be happier.
