not so sure if that was a beneficial post. the kid's obviously gettn stressed about his situation, and its more than likely too late for his insurance company to kick in. so telling him wut he shuld've done and leaving it at that was not a good idea on ur part. i think he already knows he's gettn screwed over and that he's gettn his own lawyer...

well i did call the ins company. they feed me a line of BS of why they couldn't handle it and that it would raise my ins. SO I've dropped that ins company and got on with a new one. The lawyer i consulted i don't have to pay unless we win and his fee is included in the suit. The sad thing is that the manager that was there and saw the damage is suppose to be my friend. well we all see how far that went. i heard a rumor that corp. is breathing down his neck to keep his mouth shut and he won't lie when it comes to a court of law. also the lawyer is very stoked that this won't even go to court. he said he has sued pep boys for a larger amount in the range of 18k and they settled outside of court so that they wouldn't have to pay the 14k retaner fee on their lawyer. so things are looking up

Don't waste anymore time with Pepboys, and file a small claims court claim. As long as you documented the damage and have estimates, you will have a very strong case in court. It is irrelevant whether you have had the car repaired before Pepboys responded; Anybody that is concerned about their car would at least have the car looked at before months go by. Estimates and proof of damage (hope you took a lot of pics) will hold up in court. Good luck.
PS: I had a similar incident happen to me (guess where??? at a Chevrolet Dealer!!), but the dealer covered the repair. Luckily the fix did not require extensive body repair.
That is the main reason that I will not allow anyone to raise my car unless I am there to see that the lift points are contacted properly. I am also very selective on WHO works on my car. Sad reality, but that is the state of today's quality of labor.

Hell yeah! Congrats! It even makes me feel like I won, just knowing that they didnt get to screw you. Its horseshit that we have to take things so far these days to make people accountable.
