Finite1 is a dumbass and very ignorant in my opinion. All cars have there positives and negatives. Saying imports are better is just retarded. For reliability, my dad has a 94 blazer with 280,000miles on it and changed the oil every 5k. The tranny finally went out cause he never changed the atf. That thing is very reliable, it still drives, just wont go into 4th. I have owned imports and domestic, and i like domestic better. But that my opinion.

I could spend 30 mins writing a whole list of parts that broke and at what mileage, but why bother you probably won't even read it without dismissing it as bullshit.

Point is, even the mighty toyota's break....

fact-gm quality is getting much better
fact-most cars on the road are older and older imports are according to the sources generally more reliable then domestics, this doesnt mean that every import is going to be better nor does it mean every domestic is a pos, its just statistics based on people reporting problems.
fact-this thread has gone on too long

I think you like to stir the pot and cause conflict. Somehow I think you get off on that.

Hoffman Estates reppin.

I've had the same argument with HARDCORE import supporters who use similar reasons to support imports and I take the hardcore American supporter side.

conflict can be fundamental.

I guess that's why I don't go to import sites and have this same debate. Because I don't go looking for, or starting conflict. But I'm never afraid to jump in and defend my side when it's on my home turf.

How are you killing domestic cars by 120K???? My dads last suburban was an 1989 and it had over 220K when we sold it. It had no overdrive a 4.11 gear and spent lost of time on the highway 70mph. Even with the oilchanges being stretched out to 10k more than a couple times and the fact that we didn`t really check the levels very closely so it ran till we heard the lifters pumping down and collapsing because there was no oil in them it ran great when we sold it. That thing never left us anywhere, even when the bearing fell out of the back of the original alternator at 180k, we still drove it another hour and a half home.

His current suburban has 150K and it runs great.

I swapped the 5.3L motor into my El Camino with 110k on it and was from a rollover tahoe and I didn`t even think twice about it being worn out. I think it would probably las another 150k without a problem.

And I can't understand why somebody with such a fucked up mentality towards American cars could still be wise enough to back the very best NFL team.

I think somebody else hijacked his sig. I'm not sure I like having something in common with him.

(Originally from the Chicago suburbs.)

As for the rolls-royce getting 500k out of the engine... I take it that its a diesel?
OFF-TOPIC for a second...
Smearin, that's cool! My g/f lives just over the border in Genoa City, WI. My SS is put away also, but I got the Bronco for now. I miss it, but it helps keep the mileage low (13.5k miles ). We all need to go cruisin sometime!

Back on TOPIC..
The bottom line is that no one can definitively say that one car is better than another without it being pure opinion. Comparing interiors is probably the WORST way to determine quality, because you're just comparing what one person finds comfortable and stylish to what someone else does. My OPINION is that American cars are superior. And that is based on my real-world experience with my own cars, cars I have ridden in, and my friend's cars.
