I just got that same size in the Autometer Cobalt series, I was just wondering how you mounted that on your steering colum. I would like to do it the same way it looks great.

I put a piece of thin (1/16") cut to size rubber in between the base of the tach and the steering column to help give it some grip and also to keep it from scratching.

Then I just used a couple of large black zip ties. It's never moved and the ties don't stand out at all. Unless it's a show car that is.

I would have used a large worm clamp but the ignition switch is in the way. The ties will be one in the back and one in front of the switch.

The wiring just runs along the column down into the dash.

Just keep in mind that you won't be able to tilt your steering wheel all the way up with the tach there. I know some like to do that when getting in and out of the car.

It's not an issue for me and I'm 6'4" 260 lb.

i cant seem to find the post about the gauge cluster that puts in auto-meter gauges instead of factory ones. It looks pretty good and i think that would solve the problem. If anyone else knows what im talking about pm me i want that gauge cluster.

I think those top 2 links are the same bro.

A long time ago a guy was starting to make a custom cluster with part numbers to the gauges to use. It was pretty nice looking. Can't find anymore.

Here's some Info on after market gauges, wires, etc..

And I don't know what to tell you about speeding up the factory tach.
